Here are the historical stats and trends, Nic Ashman’s tip and the predicted track pattern for the 2025 G1 Queensland Oaks (2200m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

WHO'S HOT?

Assessing the last 100 rides from every jockey in the Oaks field, Koby Jennings is the most profitable with his ROI at +27%. Jennings rides CHURCHILL'S CHOICE.

From the trainers, its still Waterhouse/Bott striking at 25% and +27% ROI from their last 100 runners while Chris and Corey Munce boast an ROI of +50%. These two stables have SHANGRI LA IMPACT and POSTER GIRL, both at big odds.

QUEENSLAND OAKS FORM ANALYSIS

  • Favourites (PHILIA) have been highly successful in recent years winning 5 of the past 9 editions.

  • Historically, contenders in the first few lines of betting have enjoyed huge success with 11 of the last 13 winners starting at $8 or less.

  • There have been only 4 winners at double-digit odds in the past 20 years – the last was last year with SOCKS NATION remarkably winning with a SP of $101.

  • In the past 14 editions, 7 winners have jumped from either Barrier 1 (JENNI'S MEADOW) or Barrier 9 (ELIVINA).

  • Wide gates have proved most successful in recent years with 7 of the past 9 winners jumping between Barriers 9 – 18.

  • 6 of the last 9 winners settled between 12th to 16th at the 800m mark.

  • Since 2005, 11 winners of the Queensland Oaks used the Doomben Roses as a lead-up, however, the last 4 winners did not take this route.

  • Coming in hot is a good sign with 8 of the last 10 winners that were 2UP or more in their prep placing in their previous start.

To maximise your chances based on historical data, look for a runner who is:

  • Towards the top of the market

  • Drawn a wide gate and will settle towards the back

  • Placed in their last start

Andy’s Tip: 2. PHILIA $3.80

Short-priced Favourite jumping from a wide barrier and coming off Doomben Roses win. Looking for 5 in a row.

NIC ASHMAN TIP

"You have to forget BENAGIL went around in The Roses. She was poleaxed and never got a crack at them. She was heavily backed to win and owns the best peak figure in the race courtesy of her SA Oaks victory. That race rated better than The Roses and she maps a hell of a lot better here. I can't see why she's $6? If you're looking for a longshot then YOU WAHNG has proper stamina in her data. Not sure if she's got the brilliance to win, and no doubt she'd prefer 2400m, but she can settle in the first 6 and grind away in the home straight."

Also racing this Saturday at Eagle Farm is the G2 Moreton Cup raced over 1200m. Here are a few historical stats and trends:

  • 5 of the last 10 winners have been Favourites.

  • 10 of the last 11 winners have started at $6.50 or less.

  • 6 of the last 12 winners jumped from Barriers 1 – 4 including the previous 3 winners.

  • 6 of the last 7 winners were either 2UP or 3UP in their prep.

  • The last 12 winners have been Males – 9 of them were either 4YO or 5YO.

  • 5 of the last 6 winners have worn either Saddlecloth 2 or 4.

Andy’s Tip: 2. HIDDEN WEALTH $8

5YO Gelding wearing Saddlecloth 2. 3UP jumping from an inside gate opening with single-digit odds. MORE PREDICTED TRACK PATTERNS, BEST BETS AND LONGSHOTS via TBF WORKS BURGER. YOU CAN GET A 7-DAY FREE TRIAL RIGHT NOW by clicking on the image BELOW
