NRL 2026 - R14 Preview

Here are the stats and predictions for the upcoming round of the NRL.

These are the notes I use for 2GB radio and other media gigs for NRL updates.

MANLY V RABBITOHS — THURSDAY 8:00PM @ 4 PINES PARK

Manly hold a narrow 79-73 advantage overall and have won 35 of 59 meetings at Brookvale. Recent history belongs to South Sydney with the Rabbitohs winning eight of the last 10 clashes, although only two of those victories have come at 4 Pines Park. Since Anthony Seibold took over, Manly remain unbeaten at home and continue to make Brookvale one of the toughest road trips in the competition.

Points have been hard to find in this matchup at Brookvale with five of the last six meetings producing 42 points or less. The return of Tolu Koula and Haumole Olakau’atu is a significant boost for the Sea Eagles.

TIP: MANLY / UNDER 50.5PTS $3.20

STORM V KNIGHTS — FRIDAY 8:00PM @ AAMI PARK

Melbourne lead the overall record 33-17 and have completely dominated Newcastle at AAMI Park with an 11-2 record. The Knights haven’t beaten the Storm in Melbourne since 2015 and once again face a difficult assignment travelling south.

The Storm have consistently piled on points in this fixture at home, scoring between 34 and 40 points in each of their last four clashes against Newcastle at AAMI. If Melbourne control possession and field position early, history suggests the Knights could spend a long night defending their own line.

TIP: STORM TO SCORE 31-40PTS $3.80

RAIDERS V ROOSTERS — FRIDAY 8:00PM @ GIO STADIUM

The Roosters lead the overall record 40-34 but Canberra have had the better of the recent meetings, winning four of the last five clashes. The Raiders also hold a strong home record against Sydney, winning 15 of 24 games at GIO Stadium.

This fixture has developed into one of the tighter contests in the NRL. Six of the last seven meetings between these clubs in Canberra have produced 41 points or less, while five of those six games were decided by eight points or fewer. Expect another arm wrestle.

TIP: EITHER TEAM BY 10.5PTS OR LESS / UNDER 49.5PTS $3.50

DOLPHINS V COWBOYS — SATURDAY 5:30PM @ KAYO STADIUM

The Dolphins have quickly established themselves in this matchup, winning five of the seven meetings between the clubs. They also boast a perfect 3-0 record against North Queensland at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

Valentine Holmes may be gone, but Murray Taulagi remains a major threat for the Cowboys. The winger has scored in every game he has played against the Dolphins and continues to be one of North Queensland’s most reliable finishers.

TIP: COWBOYS / TAULAGI ATS $3.45

BRONCOS V TITANS — SATURDAY 7:35PM @ SUNCORP STADIUM

Brisbane lead the overall series 27-13 and are 14-6 against the Titans at Suncorp Stadium. Despite that advantage, recent meetings have been much more competitive with the clubs splitting the last six clashes 3-3.

One trend that continues to stand out is points. Four of the last five meetings between these teams at Suncorp have produced 58 points or more. Jojo Fifita also enjoys this matchup, scoring doubles in his last two games against the Broncos.

TIP: OVER 50.5PTS / FIFITA ATS

WESTS TIGERS V PANTHERS — SUNDAY 2:00PM @ COMMBANK STADIUM

Penrith lead the overall record 28-15 and have won all four meetings played at Commbank Stadium. The Panthers have also won seven of the last 10 clashes between the clubs.

The Tigers have shown signs of improvement at the venue, winning their last three games at Commbank since losing to Penrith in Round 21 last season. If they’re going to cause an upset, home ground and confidence at the venue might be their biggest allies.

TIP: TIGERS $4.40

SHARKS V DRAGONS — SUNDAY 4:05PM @ SHARK PARK

Cronulla lead the rivalry 31-24 overall and are 16-8 against the Dragons at Shark Park. They’ve also won four of the last five meetings between the clubs.

Recent clashes have generally been low-scoring affairs with four of the last five producing 48 points or less. St George Illawarra have struggled badly in attack against Cronulla, scoring more than 20 points only once since 2020. That trend is difficult to ignore.

TIP: ST GEORGE UNDER 20.5PTS / UNDER 52.5PTS $2.40

BULLDOGS V EELS — MONDAY 4:00PM @ ACCOR STADIUM

Canterbury lead the overall record 81-73 and have won three of the last five clashes between the clubs. The Bulldogs also hold a narrow 19-18 advantage over Parramatta at Accor Stadium.

Neither side arrives in strong attacking form. Across their last five NRL matches, both teams are averaging fewer than 20 points per game. With points proving difficult to come by, this shapes as a tight contest that could easily be decided late.

TIP: EELS 1-12 $3.90
