The VERDICT is our top selection for the race.

Play the numbers in the preview or follow the summary.

R7 TOYOTA FORKLIFTS HILL STAKES (G2) - 1900M

1 X918 LINDERMANN Nash Rawiller (8) $1.90

2 0154 ELIYASS Tim Clark (4) $8

3 X903 ATTRITION Jamie Mott (3) $9

4 3X60 MILITARIZE Zac Lloyd (1) $6

5 9X05 KOVALICA Tommy Berry (7) $21

6 7X34 ZAMBARDO Chad Schofield (9) $11

7 9580 FAWKNER PARK Boris Thornton (5) $91

8 15X7 PORTLAND Tyler Schiller (2) $26

9 2211 KING PEDRO Kerrin McEvoy (6) $15

BEST

ATTRITION (3) clearly enjoys Sydney. He won this race in 2024 before finishing runner-up to LINDERMANN last year, with KOVALICA third. That 2024 victory remains his most recent win, but a last-start G1 third is strong form for this. Maps to enjoy a lovely run handy to the speed along the fence, much like last start. At $9, he's the one I want to be with.

DANGERS

LINDERMANN (1) won this race as a $2.30 favourite last year and will appreciate returning to familiar surroundings. He's been hot and cold this preparation, but he's due for a hot one!

ELIYASS (2) has been mixing his form but draws nicely in barrier four and remains a danger if he produces his best.

ZAMBARDO (6) has been building towards a win, finishing third and fourth at his past two starts. The wide draw is the query, but he's worth including.

LONGSHOTS

None.

VERDICT

ATTRITION (3) loves this race, brings strong G1 form and maps beautifully. Looks a terrific gamble at $9.

Summary: 3, 1, 2, 6

R8 ALAN BROWN STAKES (G3) - 1400M

1 4X35 GRINGOTTS Nash Rawiller (11) $6

2 0X13 HEADLEY GRANGE Adam Hyeronimus (3) $5.50

3 5273 PRIVATE EYE Regan Bayliss (5) $26

4 9131 GENERAL SALUTE Tim Clark (4) $8

5 02X2 SEPALS Jamie Mott (9) $5

8 0X92 ESTADIO MESTALLA Chad Schofield (2) $18

9 020X ROBUSTO Tommy Berry (15) $34

11 30X4 LINEBACKER Zac Lloyd (8) $6.50

12 46X4 SANDPAPER Jason Collett (16) $51

13 31X2 MAGNATEAR Ashley Morgan (7) $26

14 950X OSIPENKO Andrew Adkins (12) $151

15 31X5 FORMAL DISPLAY Kerrin McEvoy (13) $19

16 85X6 SIXTIES Reece Jones (10) $26

17 2117 ALTHOFF Siena Grima (6) $17

18 19X0 BRAVE ONE Dylan Gibbons (17) $91

19 50X1 FEDERALIST Tyler Schiller (1) $41

BEST

ESTADIO MESTALLA (8) is third-up and has finished in the quinella in 6 of 8 runs at this stage of his preparation. Maps for a rails run, which suits our Track Report, and only needs clear air in the straight to be in the finish at big odds.

DANGERS

SEPALS (5) disappointed on his latest Sydney visit, but don't forget his terrific second to AUTUMN GLOW in last year's Golden Eagle. G1 placings either side of a break suggest he's going well enough to win this. Jamie Mott rode him to two early victories and makes the trip north.

HEADLEY GRANGE (2) won this race last year and returns in good form. Draws beautifully in barrier three and should enjoy the perfect run just behind the speed.

GRINGOTTS (1) finished runner-up in this race last year and has the class to feature again. The 61kg and barrier 11 are the obvious challenges.

GENERAL SALUTE (4) completed last year's trifecta and arrives off a win. Drawn to get a lovely run from barrier four.

LONGSHOTS

MAGNATEAR (13) is knocking on the door after finishing runner-up last start. Maps to race prominently and could represent genuine place value at $26.

VERDICT

ESTADIO MESTALLA (8) boasts an outstanding third-up record and maps for the right run. Big odds appeal at $18.

14 X171 ANNIE'S ROSE Reece Jones (4) $14

16 287X OUI OUI OUI Tom Sherry (6) $23

18 18X3 SYLPH Zac Lloyd (1) $6

BEST

SYLPH (18) returned with a third placing and now draws the inside gate in a race lacking genuine speed. Maps to settle right on the pace without doing any work and gets every chance to make her presence felt at the business end. The final field could change the complexion of the race, but the map looks ideal.

DANGERS

SHE'S AN ARTIST (12) gets the chance to track perfectly from barrier two and looks well placed to claim her first stakes victory. She's been knocking on the door with placings at her past two starts.

GERRINGONG (8) has plenty of gate speed and ability. If she can get across early, she'll stick on at the business end.

LONGSHOTS

ASGARDA (9) led her latest trial and could do the same here in a race without much obvious speed. Nowhere near the worst winning chance at $29.

NEPO BABY (11) could roll forward and settle outside the leader. The wide draw is the query, but she's capable of featuring if she crosses without burning too much petrol.

VERDICT

SYLPH (18) maps beautifully from the inside gate and can take full advantage of a race lacking genuine speed.

Summary: 18, 12, 8, 9, 11

12 7X76 BREMEL Andrew Adkins (1) $51

13 314X ELLIPSIS Tommy Berry (9) $7

14 060X KUJENGA Braith Nock (3) $18

BEST

ELLIPSIS (13) has been trialling strongly against good opposition and boasts an excellent fresh record. Her only first-up defeat came at the start of last preparation when runner-up to the very handy CAFFE FLORIAN. Looks ready to fire fresh and appeals at $7.

DANGERS

FIERCE (9) rises from midweek company but drops in weight accordingly. Racing well and looks the obvious danger.

MERCY ME (10) well backed when resuming this track and distance last time. You would think can only improve.

LULUMON (7) has the best track and distance figure in this race but needs luck from poor gate.

LONGSHOTS

None.

VERDICT

ELLIPSIS (13) has been trialling strongly and boasts an excellent first-up record. Looks ready to fire at $7.
