Our Track Report for Caulfield was spot on, with horses making ground easily, while both G1s rated well against previous editions.
Seven of the 10 winners at Caulfield came from 3L or more off the lead at the 600m. It wasn't impossible to lead, though, with two frontrunners holding on.

v Standard: 3.7L faster
Tempo: 4.7L faster
Nic says: Fast edition in every sense. BIRDMAN likely goes to the Might And Power and, off this rating, can test SHEZA ALIBI. He is hot and cold, though, and the data suggests his pet trip is 1800m off a fast tempo or 2000m off an even-genuine tempo.
Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes

v Standard: 2.5L faster
Tempo: 0.6L slower
Nic says: Finally ANGEL CAPITAL gets his G1. He was 2.5L closer to the lead at the 600m than he was in this race last year. The tempo was ideal - it allowed him to utilise that big sprint while still being close enough. TOM KITTEN the hidden run.
