The pace of Saturday's Cox Plate could change drastically with RV vets set to inspect the Gai Waterhouse-trained Alligator Blood.

Alligator Blood will need to pass a fitness test on Friday afternoon before he is permitted to line up in Australia's weight-for-age championship.
For punters it means Zaaki should get a softer lead and with the predicted rainfall, that could prove advantageous. There's a small query on Zaaki at a strong 2040m on a heavily rain affected track. Alligator Blood, together with Profondo, we're set to make Annabel Neasham's import work through the first section.
Don't forget it's been Alligator Blood that's led Zaaki at his last two starts in the Underwood Stakes and Might And Power Stakes. Before that Zaaki was allowed to dictate in front in the Tramway Stakes where he recorded one of his better ratings on a heavy track.
It's not Cox Plate week without some drama!
Stay calm,
TBF
