2 2121 BURMA STAR B Melham (3) $6
3 1X70 MATAHGA L Neindorf (4) $51
4 8X86 KALEO E Brown (2) $17
5 1132 TAGLINE M Dee (13) $8.50

8 3135 SULEK C Williams (5) $19
9 135 CENTU CAVADDI J Childs (8) $21
10 X319 AITU J Noonan (10) $91
11 1 TOP REWARD L Currie (7) $21
12 2X31 SHEZA ALIBI L Nolen (1) $1.75
13 X521 LA REINE Z Spain (11) $51
BEST
KALEO (4) was forced to snag back from barrier 15 last start and still clocked the third-fastest final 400 m. With a softer draw, he can settle closer and add value. SHEZA ALIBI (12) was held up second-up before bursting through a gap to score impressively. She takes on the boys but draws the inside alley and maps for the dream run again.
DANGERS
BURMA STAR (2) and TAGLINE (5) ran the two fastest late splits of the key lead-up when fighting out the quinella. Both are flying, though Burma Star has drawn ideally while Tagline must overcome the wide gate.TOP REWARD (11) won from just off the pace on debut and rises in class but still looks progressive.
LONGSHOTS
SULEK (8) is consistent and has Williams in the saddle.
VERDICT
(4) KALEO to cause a boilover.
Summary: 12 – 2 – 4 – 5 – 11
R8 1400M
1 5231 JIMMYSSTAR E Brown (3) $2.00
2 5123 EVAPORATE J Melham (6) $5.00
3 X263 BOSUSTOW J Mott (4) $18
4 9576 PINSTRIPED C Hefel (2) $26
5 X146 ANGEL CAPITAL B Melham (5) $3.00
6 00X9 MIGHTY ULYSSES L Currie (1) $91
7 4154 VINROCK M Dee (7) $15
BEST
JIMMYSSTAR (1) was outstanding when third in The Everest before blowing them away in the Russell Balding. A four-time winner at this track and perfectly suited at 1400m — the one they all have to beat.
DANGERS
ANGEL CAPITAL (5) arguably should have won the Rupert Clarke two back over this track and trip after being blocked for a run. He was solid enough in The Everest and looks the clear threat dropping back in grade. EVAPORATE (2) rarely runs a bad race and maps to get a soft trail just behind the leaders.
LONGSHOTS
VINROCK (7) gets in light and could take some catching if he controls the tempo.
VERDICT
(1) JIMMYSSTAR to prove too classy again.

15 146 QUICKAZ T Stockdale (4) $61
16 14 CHOIR POINT N/A (9) $41
17 2 JESSICA RABBIT N/A (2) $34
BEST
MY GLADIOLA (1) drops back to her own sex after two terrific seconds against the boys. Maps perfectly from barrier one and looks ready to win.
DANGERS
TUPAKARA (4) has been freshened since measuring up in Sydney behind classy company. She arguably should have beaten Apocalyptic first-up over 1200 m and can figure strongly here. INKARUNA (2) keeps finding the line and will be suited by an even tempo. SURF’S UP (8) had no luck last time but was excellent here two back — only query is the wide draw.
LONGSHOTS
JESSICA RABBIT (17) produced a smart debut when splitting the field and beating third by eight lengths. From gate two, she’s a knockout hope despite the class rise.TOMATO TOASTIE (7) can roll forward and may take running down if the track suits leaders.
VERDICT
(1) MY GLADIOLA to atone and score, with (4) TUPAKARA the danger and (17) JESSICA RABBIT the blowout.

13 21X3 SPIONE C Williams (6) $4.40
14 530X SOMEWHERE D Bates (13) $15
15 116X DARK SIMBA M Dee (10) $10
BEST
SPIONE (13) was excellent first-up when flashing home for third at Geelong. Craig Williams sticks, and the step to 1400 m is perfect — his last prep produced a win and a second over this trip at Randwick. Ready to strike second-up.
DANGERS
TAKEN (7) resumes with an impressive record, having gone second then four straight wins to kick off his last prep. Proven fresh and looks the clear danger.STYLISH (8) also resumes well — she won first-up last prep and competed solidly in stronger mares’ grade thereafter.ROADCONE (11) finished fifth behind Spione at Geelong and should take improvement with Nolen aboard.
LONGSHOTS
CATOGGIO (12) has to work across from a wide draw but drops 4 kg and can improve sharply if he finds the front. MODOWN (2) didn’t come up last campaign, yet his previous prep was sound and he can sneak into the finish at
odds.
VERDICT
(13) SPIONE to go one better second-up, from (7) TAKEN, with (12) CATOGGIO the value play.
