WINNING LANES
Off Rail. All winners in Lanes 6 and beyond
POSITION IN RUN
1 leader won with 4 of the 10 winners 3L or more off the lead at the 600m.
STAR PERFORMER
[R7] KERGUELEN copped a SLOW tempo that saw him more than 6L off standard time at the 400m. But his last 400m ranked 5th for the day and his last 200m 4th plus it was 2.5L above standard suggesting this gelding was only getting warmed up on the line. The fact he's recorded the best last 1000m of the day suggests he might get beyond the 1200m.
HIDDEN GEM
R5 CODETTA clocked the best last 800, 600, 400 and 200m of the day when resuming. This is her career peak rating, surely indicative of a horse that is in for a huge prep? Stick with her.

WINNING LANES
Just off rail. Lanes 3 yo 8 provided 7 of the 9 winners.
POSITION IN RUN
0 leaders won with 5 [55%] of the 9 winners 3L or more off the lead at the 600m.
STAR PERFORMER
[R2] SPLASH BACK missed standard time by 1.4L but boy did she fly late off a pedestrian tempo. She was more than 10L off standard time the 400m. Her close ranked 2 for the meeting and given this mare has strecthed to 2000m previously, that is an ominous sign for her campaign ahead.
HIDDEN GEM
[R8] WATCHME WIN contested the Bel Espirit Stakes won by NIANCE, who ran fast time. This gelding was slowly away and settled 11th befoe reeling off the best last 400m and 200m of the day. He's well placed in this grade.
Keep The Ears Pricked!
