R6 COOLMORE STUD STAKES (1200 m)

1 X321 BEIWACHT A Hyeronimus (10) ($3.60)

2 2515 MCGAW L Neindorf (12) ($34)

3 1X31 TENTYRIS M Zahra (5) ($3.90)

4 2135 TYCOON STAR M Dee (9) ($51)

5 X134 SKYHOOK C Williams (2) ($13)

6 X351 HIDDEN MOTIVE A Morgan (6) ($23)

7 1172 RAGING FORCE T Berry (7) ($15)

8 1136 JIMMY RECARD B Allen (11) ($41)

9 1X14 LEGACY BOUND J McNeil (4) ($17)

10 1X32 BEADMAN B Shinn (8) ($5.00)

11 1X1 SKYGLIDER K McEvoy (3) ($18)

12 X212 MY GLADIOLA J Mott (1) ($11)

BEST

(10) BEADMAN — Worked early when caught wide in the Heritage and arguably should’ve won the Roman Consul. His Flemington jump-out beating BEIWACHT was electric and he looks primed to strike third-up.

(1) BEIWACHT — Freshened since his record-breaking Golden Rose win. Not pushed in that jump-out behind Beadman and Waller dominates this race.

(3) TENTYRIS — Strong return in the Danehill when first home from the slower inside group, then overcame a tricky spot to score in the Gothic. Genuine player peaking at the right time.

DANGERS

(12) MY GLADIOLA — Tough filly who fought hard to win the Cap d’Antibes then stuck on bravely when the tempo was against her last start.

(9) LEGACY BOUND — Won the Poseidon before finishing alongside Tentyris in the Danehill. In-form and maps well again.

LONGSHOTS

(5) SKYHOOK — Forgive the latest effort. Back to 1200m is ideal and he’s drawn for a soft run close to the speed.

VERDICT

(10) BEADMAN to claim his first Group 1 victory.

Summary: 10 – 1 – 3

R7 VICTORIA DERBY (2500 m)

1 X231 OBSERVER M Zahra (4) ($2.05)

2 6402 HIGHVOL J Mott (15) ($21)

3 2211 AUTUMN MYSTERY B Shinn (17) ($13)

4 4122 MIEWA J Childs (8) ($19)

5 1315 OPTIONS H Coffey (7) ($14)

6 0382 PROVIDENCE C Williams (12) ($6.00)

7 141 AZAZEL M Dee (10) ($21)

8 1005 ARCORA J Allen (11) ($51)

9 4613 O’SHEAMUS K McEvoy (5) ($16)

10 X673 AMAZAKE D Bates (6) ($51)

11 X127 ENGINE OF WAR T Berry (9) ($23)

12 4814 MATSUDA T Stockdale (19) ($51)

13 5104 ONE STEP CLOSER J McNeil (2) ($41)

14 2223 SAVISANTA B Melham (3) ($23)

15 15 MCWOODY J Melham (16) ($67)

16 244 DEAL DONE FAST D Stackhouse (1) ($41)

17 356 ARABIAN PRINCE C Williams (20) ($18)

18 5206 FREDDIE BASSETT B Allen (14) ($51)

19 X617 CRACK A DEEL N/A (13) ($151)

20 1009 SUPER PARADISE N/A (18) ($151)

BEST

(6) PROVIDENCE — Has been building beautifully for this. Outdashed in a sit-sprint two back, then got too far off them in the Gloaming before charging home in the Vase — the same race where OBSERVER controlled things up front. Ready to peak up to 2500m.

(1) OBSERVER — Luckless in the Guineas before dictating terms to win the Vase easily. Gets every possible again from gate four but may face more pressure here. Genuine danger if left alone.

DANGERS

(5) OPTIONS — Tough type who’s been thereabouts in every prep run. Hampered in his only defeat, won the Super Impose narrowly, and stuck on well last time when tempo was against.

(3) AUTUMN MYSTERY — Keeps improving and wasn’t far away in the Vase despite covering extra ground. Blinkers on could sharpen him up again.

LONGSHOTS

(17) ARABIAN PRINCE — Needs a scratching to get a run, but if he does, he’s a blowout hope. Has been a victim of dawdling tempos all prep and will relish a true staying test. (4) MIEWA — Turned heads with a sweeping Valley win then closed from the tail in both Derby lead-ups despite slow tempos. Stays well and looks suited to Flemington’s long run home.

VERDICT

(6) PROVIDENCE to turn the tables and capture the Victoria Derby.

Summary: 6 – 1 – 4 – 5 – 17

R8 EMPIRE ROSE STAKES (1600 m)

1 0X17 PRIDE OF JENNI D Bates (7) ($5.00)

2 X416 FANGIRL K McEvoy (6) ($3.20)

3 3321 ABOUNDING J Melham (1) ($15)

4 X576 DAMASK ROSE B Shinn (9) ($10)

5 03X3 BENAGIL C Williams (4) ($20)

6 4X43 LEICA LUCY M Zahra (3) ($6.00)

7 X115 LAZZURA T Berry (11) ($13)

8 X396 FIRESTORM A Hyeronimus (8) ($34)

9 2512 SPLASH BACK J Childs (10) ($21)

10 1121 IDLE FLYER M Dee (5) ($7.00)

11 X103 ON DISPLAY B Melham (2) ($23)

BEST

(1) PRIDE OF JENNI — Won this race two years ago and arrives in top order. Her King Charles III effort was brave after doing work early to lead, and she’ll find the front much easier this time.

(6) LEICA LUCY — NZ Oaks winner who’s been crying out for a genuine tempo. Flew home first-up here and was again strong late at Caulfield. Back to Flemington mile — perfect set-up.

(2) FANGIRL — Missed the kick in the King Charles and got too far back, but her closing sectionals were elite. She’s the one charging late.

DANGERS

(4) DAMASK ROSE — Should’ve finished much closer in the Toorak. Her earlier closing runs were excellent and she’s primed to hit the line hard if she sees daylight.

(10) IDLE FLYER — Honest mare who’s won three of her past four. Drawn to get a soft run and can pinch a break if the tempo slackens.

LONGSHOTS

(5) BENAGIL — Hit the line well when resuming behind Zou Sensation and King Zephyr. Up to 1600m, big track suits — looks ready to surprise at double-figure odds.

VERDICT

(5) BENAGIL to shock the big guns and steal the Empire Rose late.

Summary: 5 – 1 – 6 – 2 – 4

R9 ICHIBAN STAKES F&M (1100 m)

1 56X8 INFANCY C Williams (12) ($41)

2 X364 ARABIAN SUMMER B Shinn (7) ($5.00)

3 5X01 SHE’S BULLETPROOF B Allen (3) ($6.00)

4 2248 AUSTMARR K McEvoy (14) ($26)

5 0201 STRETAN ANGEL L Neindorf (10) ($11)

6 X937 GENEROSITY T Berry (1) ($5.00)

7 8X57 PRAIRIE FLOWER J Melham (2) ($21)

8 1835 HI DUBAI M Dee (9) ($18)

9 7X89 APACHE SONG L Bates (4) ($151)

10 4473 NEW YORK LUSTRE C Hefel (15) ($9.50)

11 11X3 MERRIGOLD J McNeil (8) ($41)

12 746X HEARCOMESTHESTAR B Mertens (11) ($34)

13 25X2 SOFT LOVE H Coffey (6) ($6.00)

14 2X83 FLYING FOR FUN J Childs (13) ($17)

15 19X6 PHOTOGRAPH L Currie (5) ($17)

BEST

(13) SOFT LOVE — Second-up. Just missed over this track and trip last prep and clocked the best final 400m of the meeting when resuming in the Alinghi. Can sit midfield and charge late.

(6) GENEROSITY — Luckless all prep. Boxed in during the Concorde, finishing near top sprinters Joliestar and Briasa before a strong Sydney Stakes run. Barrier 1 is the only knock — needs luck at the right time.

(2) ARABIAN SUMMER — Forgive her Schillaci run when held up, then had to chase a hot tempo in the Caulfield Sprint. Back to her own sex and better placed here.

DANGERS

(15) PHOTOGRAPH — No luck at all in the Alinghi, stuck behind tiring runners with nowhere to go. Clear running makes her a sharp improver at odds.

(5) STRETAN ANGEL — Everything went her way winning last time but still produced a strong sectional close. Can run on again if tempo suits.

LONGSHOTS

(10) NEW YORK LUSTRE — Keeps lifting and drops nicely in weight. Can figure at odds if she gets cover.

VERDICT

(13) SOFT LOVE to power home and land a deserved stakes win.
