GANGSTA GRANNY (5) was plain when resuming but one bad run shouldn't undo everything she had produced beforehand. That was the first time she'd missed a place and there was no physical issue detected afterwards. She's capable of much better and $8 is enough incentive to find out whether she can rediscover it second-up.
DANGERS
LADY SHENANDOAH (1) drops back from the Winx Stakes and will likely have to concede some ground from barrier 12. That's hardly unfamiliar territory — she faced a difficult draw at the same stage last campaign and rattled home to finish within a length of Joliestar and Beiwacht. She's well placed back against the mares.
LAZZURA (2) returns after establishing herself as a high-quality filly earlier in the year. She's drawn to enjoy an economical run and the booking of James McDonald only strengthens her claims.
APOCALYPTIC (3) made an encouraging return and now gets the inside alley. She remains lightly raced enough to believe her best figures are still ahead of her.
PLAINTIFF (10) has only been to the races three times and has already shown considerable promise. She faces a much stronger test here but has plenty of upside and could easily take another step this preparation.
LONGSHOTS

VERDICT
GANGSTA GRANNY (5) gets another chance. Her first-up performance was an obvious disappointment, but her record before that was remarkably consistent and $8 looks a fair price to bet on a return to form.

UNDER FOCUS (12) brings some excellent form through Blue Door from last preparation and there were excuses when he resumed, settling well back after drawing wide. He's been back to the trials since and should be much better suited from gate 5. If he's going to beat this group of three-year-olds, this looks like the race to do it.
DANGERS
MUSIC TIME (4) has twice finished within two lengths of Guest House, a level of form none of these have matched yet. Barrier 13 presents a challenge, but he showed in the Black Opal that he can overcome a wide alley by working forward. We've stuck with him this far and there's no reason to jump off now.
ST GOTTHARD (7) arrives unbeaten after winning both starts in his first preparation. He's clearly considered one of the better three-year-olds in the Waller yard and this should tell us plenty about where he sits heading towards the Golden Rose.
TRON BOLT (2) is another unbeaten Waller colt stepping into much deeper waters. Three starts for three wins demands respect and he's another who could emerge as a genuine Golden Rose contender.
CORMIER (9) finished his first campaign with consecutive seconds and has shown enough ability to warrant consideration at this level. He has the option of an earlier race but is certainly in the mix if connections come this way.
LONGSHOTS
None.
VERDICT
UNDER FOCUS (12) can be forgiven for his first-up defeat and his previous form gives him a legitimate chance against these. He's $8 and gets his opportunity to prove he belongs with the better three-year-olds.

SKYHOOK (6) finished last preparation in terrific order and should carry some residual fitness into his return. The wide draw isn't ideal, but he has the class to overcome it and profiles as the runner with the most upside in a race where the majority are resuming.
DANGERS
MAGNATEAR (8) took another step during 2025 and continued that progression earlier this year. He's three from three in the placings at Rosehill and two solid trials should have him ready to perform fresh. Barrier 1 gives him the chance to enjoy an economical run just behind the speed.
MILITARIZE (2) hasn't won since taking out the Golden Rose almost three years ago, but that record needs context given nearly half of his subsequent starts have come at Group 1 level. There were encouraging signs earlier this year and he should be doing his best work late.
JUST PARTY (14) has an advantage over most of these with a run already under his belt. His return was full of merit and that added fitness could prove important against so many first-up runners.
LONGSHOTS
None.
VERDICT
SKYHOOK (6) has residual fitness from a strong previous campaign and looks capable of making another leap this preparation. Despite the awkward gate, he's the one to beat.

EAGLE EXPRESS (6) clearly enjoys returning at Rosehill, having now won fresh here twice. Her second-up record doesn't jump off the page, but she had little go right at this stage last campaign. Barrier 1 gives Zac Lloyd the chance to tuck in behind the speed and conserve energy. The weight rise comes with the drop in grade and we're prepared to wear it.
DANGERS
SOVEREIGN HILL (5) arrives off a strong victory and should be able to take up a prominent position without doing too much work. He's building nicely this preparation and looks capable of handling the stronger company.
GRAND IMPACT (1) chased Eagle Express home last start and again looks capable of running well. The weight equation isn't as favourable this time, even with Anna Roper's claim, while the slight headgear adjustment adds another variable.
NAVY PILOT (3) has performed well fresh previously and comes here off a trial win with Shannen Llewellyn aboard. He'll need to overcome the big weight but has enough quality to be included.
LONGSHOTS
GETAFIX (2) has trialled nicely ahead of his return and gets the services of Nash Rawiller, who has proven profitable when riding for the stable over a long period. At $29, he's capable of adding some serious value to the quaddie.
VERDICT
EAGLE EXPRESS (6) gets another favourable Rosehill set-up from the inside draw. Zac Lloyd should be able to stalk the speed and, despite the extra weight, she looks capable of making it three fresh wins at the track.
