19 25X4 SHADY ROAD B Nock (5) $41
20 121X VOLTAGE LASS N/A (17) $91
BEST
AGATHA (17)
Busted the clock late first-up and put a space on them despite doing things wrong. Profiles like a filly with genuine upside and if she handles the rise in class she can simply be better than these. Drawn to get the right cart into the race with speed expected from wider out.
DANGERS
NEPO BABY (1)
Also accepted for a Listed race at Doomben where she drew perfectly with 53kg. The weight here is the obvious challenge but she maps beautifully and the form around her is strong enough for this.
CONFIDENTIALITY (10)
Barrier 20 makes things tricky but her form lines stack up strongly. If she can slot in with cover and avoid working early she’s capable of launching over the top late.
AKAYSHA (2)
Handles pressure and should get a genuinely run race to suit. Wide draw no spoil if they spread across the track late.
CANTIAMO (5)
Progressive type who keeps winning. Speed map is awkward but she’s got enough tactical pace to offset it.
LONGSHOTS
ALL ADORE (8)
Will be one of the runners pressing forward early and if the track suits those on speed she can give a sight at odds.
CASSEROUSSE (14)
Drawn to enjoy a soft run behind what looks a genuinely strong tempo. Not hopeless if gaps appear at the right time.

19 88X5 SMILING PROPHET M Fitzgerald (13) $151
20 1218 COSMOLICIOUS A Gibbons (2) $151
BEST
GOLDEN STRAAND (15)
Didn’t look comfortable on the shifting ground last start yet still wasn’t beaten far. Progressive sprinter who now drops sharply in weight and profiles ideally for this setup if she can offset the draw.
DANGERS
DOLLAR MAGIC (16)
Very interesting runner resuming for a new stable. Draws to get every chance and this is her preferred trip. Loves this track and wouldn’t shock at odds.
THE INSTRUCTOR (2)
Won the Luskin Star here 12 months ago and his fresh record is strong. The query is whether the sharp 1100m first-up is now a touch short but class carries him a long way.
KING OF SPARTA (1)
Returning from an 80-week break which is never easy but he’s shown enough at the trials to suggest ability remains. High-class sprinter at his best.
OUR KOBISON (11)
Looks one of the likely leaders and maps to get a soft run near the speed. Strong chance if the track favours those up on tempo.
LONGSHOTS
EMPEROR (7)
Can roll forward and make his own luck. Overs if the race shape suits leaders.
VERDOUX (8)
Consistent type who gets the right run from midfield and can sneak into the finish at odds.

19 6264 OAKFIELD JUPITER J Ford (3) $23
20 1446 OUR QUEEN N/A (4) $17
BEST
SURFIN' BIRD (9)
Solid on-speed return and maps to get another ideal run from a low draw. Looks the horse with the fewest negatives and should strip fitter second-up.
DANGERS
TUILERIES (1)
Would’ve appealed even more from a kinder draw but she’s a genuine 1400m mare who gets her preferred dry ground. Chad Schofield rode her perfectly two starts back from a wide gate and similar tactics can see her figure again.
IMPOSANT (14)
Placed in the Midway Champs Final before finishing fifth in this race last year. Stable clearly targets this race and she profiles similarly again.
ARRIVING HOME (12)
Building fitness and maps to get the right run just off the speed. Can improve sharply if the race pressure is genuine.
OH DIAMOND LIL (6)
Forgive the first-up run where something may have gone amiss. Previous ratings stack up strongly against these.
LONGSHOTS
LUVNWAR (3)
Progressive mare who can improve second-up and shouldn’t be underestimated.
MELODY AGAIN (4)
Has enough class to measure up if able to offset the awkward draw.

BEST
LINEBACKER (2)
Settled top four in the Doncaster and did similar winning the Silver Eagle last spring. Trialled neatly on May 1 and maps to get the right run again. Clearly the horse to beat if he returns anywhere near his peak.
DANGERS
FORMAL DISPLAY (9)
Was second emergency for Friday’s Cup but this may have always been the preferred option. Already qualified for the Big Dance through the Tamworth Cup and brings strong form into this.
CAPTAIN FURAI (13)
Progressive type from the Waller yard who looks capable of measuring up in this grade. Drawn to get every chance.
PHEARSON (15)
Can roll forward in a race with decent pressure and looks suited around this trip. Overs if left alone in front.
LONGSHOTS
ZOU SENSATION (3)
Inside draw and tactical speed make him an interesting knockout hope.
WHINCHAT (8)
Comes here off strong winning form and can’t be dismissed despite the rise in grade.
