12 552X BLINDEDBYTHELIGHT B Egan (2) $23
13 8X51 MODELLA T Berry (9) $6.00
BEST
IDLE FLYER (6) — Five wins from six rides with Lloyd and maps perfectly off what looks a controlled tempo. Trialled sharply and lands in the right spot to strike.
ARCTIC GLAMOUR (1) — Racing far better than the raw stats suggest and gets back to a track she clearly enjoys. Can position up and give a big sight.
DANGERS
TUILERIES (5) — Progressive type who maps to get every chance. Right in this if the tempo is even.
VERONA ROSE (2) — Has ability and should land in a stalking position. Can improve sharply.
VERDICT
IDLE FLYER (6) on top in a race that sets up perfectly, ahead of ARCTIC GLAMOUR (1) with TUILERIES (5) and VERONA ROSE (2) in the mix.
Summary: 6 – 1 – 5 – 2
R8
1 212X DUBAI HONOUR T Marquand (9) $3.90
2 06X1 VAUBAN T Clark (4) $6.50

8 X514 PIGGYBACK Z Lloyd (7) $34
9 X221 AELIANA J McDonald (8) $1.65
BEST
AELIANA (9) — Dominant Derby winner at her only try at 2400m and profiles right up to this level. The quick back-up is the only knock, but talent-wise she’s right there with the best of these.
DUBAI HONOUR (1) — World-class traveller who has been beaten just once in Australia, by a flying Via Sistina. Sets the standard again.
DANGERS
VAUBAN (2) — Won the Sky High last year before running a strong third in this race. Proven at the trip and gets another chance.
RIVER OF STARS (7) — Excellent in the Cups during spring and improved second-up. Third-up here, right distance, ready to peak.
LONGSHOTS
SOUL OF SPAIN (3) — Stays all day and can improve sharply getting to a more suitable trip. Not the worst knockout hope.
VERDICT
AELIANA (9) just on top in a high-quality staying contest, ahead of DUBAI HONOUR (1) with VAUBAN (2) and RIVER OF STARS (7) right in the mix.
Summary: 9 – 1 – 2 – 7

15 1056 COOL JAKEY T Schiller (3) $15
16 2230 HELLSING B Nock (11) $34
17 73X8 SNOW IN MAY D Gibbons (14) $51
BEST
SEPALS (1) — That Newmarket run was enormous and ties in perfectly with his pre-break form behind AUTUMN GLOW. Clearly the class runner and still upside to come with just ten starts.
DANGERS
ENXUTO (13) — Strong, consistent prep on dry tracks. The knock is whether he handles any sting out of the ground, but talent-wise he’s right in it.
ROBUSTO (4) — Maps to get every chance and has the ratings to be competitive in this grade.
LORD PENMAN (14) — Drawn to get the right run and sits right in the mix at a nice price.
LONGSHOTS
SNOW IN MAY (17) — Had no hope first-up in a sit-and-sprint. Fitter and stepping out in trip suits — can improve sharply at odds.
VERDICT
SEPALS (1) looks a class above, ahead of ENXUTO (13) with ROBUSTO (4) and LORD PENMAN (14) next best.
Summary: 1 – 13 – 4 – 14 – 17

16 9115 SIGNOR TORTONI K McEvoy (9) $20
17 2653 WHO BUT ROO A McLucas (4) $201
BEST
KING'S SECRET (6) — Can improve sharply off the resuming run and maps to get the right run in what looks a genuinely run sprint. If he lifts that extra length, he’s right in the finish.
MAL COUPE (5) — Continues to raise the bar and proved last start he belongs at this level. Drawn to get every chance again.
DANGERS
GANGSTA GRANNY (1) — Tough mare who can overcome the wide draw and press forward. McDonald sticks in the last and she’ll be right there.
ROSELYN'S STAR (15) — Maps to get a lovely run into the race and looks set to peak. Can have a big say late.
VERDICT
KING'S SECRET (6) to edge a deep sprint, ahead of MAL COUPE (5) with GANGSTA GRANNY (1) and ROSELYN'S STAR (15) right in the finish.
Summary: 6 – 5 – 1 – 15
